1. Context:

Write a few lines about the context of your proposal.

--------------------Create nesting sites for different bird species in our area

2. Proposal: Bird populations are essential for maintaining the ecosystem, but they are declining significantly. Among other things, birds like to nest in cavities in buildings; however, modern constructions offer fewer and fewer such opportunities. The creation of an association whose goal would be to build birdhouses and obtain permission from property owners to install them in strategic locations on suitable buildings. Local authorities would not have to spend any money but would simply support the association—if they so choose—in order to raise awareness among property owners and obtain permission.

Describe your proposal. You will be able to attach images or files later in the process.

The purpose of this platform is to collect and respond to proposals from residents who:

  • Require the involvement of public services under municipal jurisdiction;

  • Aims to improve residents’ quality of life;

  • Do not concern reports related to incivility (graffiti, nuisances, offenses, etc.), which can be filed with the police;

  • Does not concern obtaining financial resources or grants;

  • Are not for-profit in nature.

--------------------

3. Motivation: To promote the reproduction of endangered bird species and, at the same time, mitigate biodiversity loss in our regions.

Tell us: Why is it important for the City of Lausanne to consider your proposal? – Who will benefit from it? What advantages will they gain from your idea? Biodiversity, of course, benefits each and every one of us.

Of course, we could also continue to hear them sing as they do so wonderfully.
