This proposal was not selected because:

Hello,

 Thank you for your contribution to the Suggestion Box.

The City of Lausanne does not disclose the identities of the members of its award committee; therefore, the proposal to release a list of the committee members’ names cannot be accepted.

However, the rules governing the allocation of low-rent (subsidized) housing by the City’s commission are specifically set forth in the Municipal Directive establishing the conditions for the allocation and rental of City of Lausanne housing.

 More generally, access to affordable housing is governed by cantonal and municipal regulations, which you can view here:

Best regards.

1. Context: Allocation of subsidized housing owned by the City of Lausanne

Write a few lines about the context of your proposal.

--------------------

2. Proposal: Make public and transparent the identities of the members of the commission responsible forallocation of subsidized housing owned by the municipality of Lausanne and managed by the city’s housing management service, and ensure that individuals and families with children cannot access housing with fewer than 3 rooms, in order to allow childless individuals—who have more limited rights—to access 2-room housing. This could significantly improve the situation for this group of people, who have fewer rights than those with children.

Describe your proposal. You’ll be able to attach images or files later in the process.

The purpose of this platform is to collect and respond to proposals from residents who:

  • Require the involvement of public services under municipal jurisdiction;

  • Aims to improve residents’ quality of life;

  • Do not concern reports of anti-social behavior (graffiti, nuisances, crimes, etc.), which can be filed with the police;

  • Does not concern obtaining financial resources or grants;

  • Are not for-profit.

3. Motivation:

Tell us why it’s important for the City of Lausanne to consider your proposal. – Who will benefit from it? What advantages will they gain from your idea?This will help create transparency, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, allow people without children to access two-room apartments—to which they are currently entitled only on paper, but in practice are prioritized for those with children—and prevent the perverse effect I’have observed among people I know: despite their already precarious situation, they choose to have children in order to gain access to benefits such as child allowances, etc. And those children, in turn, will swell the ranks of the precarious population.
