This proposal was selected because:

Hello, Madam,

Lot No. 20061, located at the entrance to Chemin Louis-Boissonnet, experienced a landslide in 2015. Barriers were installed at that time to secure the very steep slope that had formed there. Buddleia bushes took root following this ground disturbance.

The DiversCités team will work to address the accessible area by the end of August to cut back these invasive neophytes. Following that, we will reassess the situation regarding the barriers in order to take the appropriate safety measures.

We look forward to hearing from you,

Best regards,

Cascades bus stop toward Grand-Vennes

1. Context:

Proliferation of Buddleja davidii, a shrub listed on the blacklist of invasive neophytes, and an incomprehensible lack of maintenance of the site...

--------------------

2. Proposal:

For several years now, the embankment on the Flon side at the Cascades stop has been left neglected: damaged construction barriers, a tarp belonging to a public works company, etc. Behind these barriers, Buddleja davidii (butterfly bush)—listed as an invasive alien species—are proliferating. Beneath all this overgrown vegetation lies a public bench that has become inaccessible.

--------------------

3. Motivation:

It is important to secure the area and, as quickly as possible and in accordance with best practices, remove the invasive plants that proliferate year after year, and restore this roadside border. The bench was originally popular with walkers, especially since there are no others at this stop, and it offered a welcome break with a view of the forest.
