This proposal was selected because:

The Sports Department thanks you for your suggestion to provide a mobile pump track for the residents of Lausanne. Your request confirms that the department’s current plans are heading in the right direction. In fact, the City of Lausanne’s Sports Department has been exploring this possibility since last year, and a pilot project is currently being developed. A mobile pump track is therefore expected to be set up during the summer of 2022 in the Ouchy area as part of the festivities surrounding the arrival of the Tour de France in the “Olympic Capital” on July 9, 2022. Discussions are also underway to propose this type of facility for the Vidy Fair Play Area.

1. Context:

To revitalize the lakeside area during the summer months.

--------------------

2. Proposal:

A pump track is a looped course consisting of several consecutive bumps and banked turns, and can be used with various types of sports equipment, including bicycles, scooters, and rollerblades.

It can be mobile or stationary. This equipment could even be rented initially to keep costs down.

The city of Sierre has had great success with this initiative:

3. Motivation:

This activity is simple, fun, and designed for the whole family. It would help revitalize the lakeside at a reasonable cost.
