This proposal was selected because:

Hello,

Your contribution to the City of Lausanne’s suggestion box dated April 28, 2021, which was forwarded to us as a matter within our jurisdiction, has received our full attention.

First and foremost, please accept our apologies for the delay in our response. After reviewing your submission, we are able to provide you with the following information.

In general, parking in secure facilities remains the responsibility of private property owners.

We are well aware, however, that in the absence of suitable facilities, some residents are choosing not to purchase an electric bike and thus are not switching to this mode of transportation.

That is why we have launched an exploratory study on the development of a concept for urban bike-sharing stations. This study should lead to a pilot project initially carried out in one or two neighborhoods, before being expanded to the entire city.

We would like to reiterate our thanks for your input and hope that we have provided you with useful information. Please accept, Sir, our best regards.

Electric Bike Shelter

Selected

A shelter for electric bikes to protect them from the weather and theft, located either in a public space or in a private/public space on Avenue des Alpes, would be useful. I don’t buy an electric bike because I don’t know where to store it safely, and the bike is too heavy to keep in my apartment (2nd floor) or in the basement.

For your information, like most tenants, I don’t have a garage, so I don’t have a place to store an electric bike.
