This proposal was not selected because:

Hello,

Thank you for submitting this suggestion to the suggestion box.

Unfortunately, your proposal has not been selected for the following reasons:

1. Different modes of urban public transportation have widely varying capacities (for example, a subway line can carry about 18 times more people per hour than a local bus route) and infrastructure costs that are more or less proportional to transport capacity;

2. Given the significant investment costs for key transit corridors (high-level-of-service buses, trams, and subways)—which require specific infrastructure—these projects are planned within the framework of the Lausanne-Morges metropolitan area in conjunction with urban development to serve areas where other modes of transportation cannot meet the demand;

3. Romanel is already served by a major transit corridor (the LEB), which has benefited from significant infrastructure investments that will eventually allow for service with longer and more frequent trains. The future m3 will create a fast and efficient connection to the LEB at Chauderon and Flon from the northern part of the city;

4. The current and future population and employment density in Romanel, and in the corridor between Blécherette and Romanel, does not justify the investment that would be required to expand the m3.

The M3 Metro Line from Blécherette to Romanel

Avatar: redevils redevils

1. Context: Why isn’t Romanel served by public transportation?

We already have bus routes 21 and 1 heading toward Blécherette; later, you’ll add the M3—and, to everyone’s surprise, it won’t go all the way to Romanel

--------------------

Why not add another metro station to go toward Romanel?

Currently, we have to take the bus downtown to catch the LEB, which is a waste of time. An additional metro stop would be ideal for the Blecherette–Romanel route.

--------------------

Adding this metro stop will make it easier and allow people to use public transportation, especially those living in La Blecherette, since Romanel is only a 10-minute drive away. Why wasn’t this idea considered earlier?
