This proposal was not selected because:

Regarding the City’s communications, we already have our visual identity in place for communications and participation in the Plaines-du-Loup area for the coming years and are therefore unable to approve this request.

However, since 2020, the City of Lausanne has launched participatory forums for the Plaines-du-Loup area, which will run through 2023. The participatory forums are led by the City of Lausanne, which is supported by a monitoring group composed of representatives from various stakeholders in the existing and future neighborhood.

The main objective of this process is to eventually establish a neighborhood assembly that will champion the aspirations of the neighborhood’s residents and users. The monitoring group may address this issue, particularly regarding the assembly’s visual identity. Indeed, this is an important topic that must be addressed, as the neighborhood assembly will need to communicate effectively and have its own identity, distinct from that of the City of Lausanne.

Our next meeting is scheduled for January 11, 2022. We have added this topic to the agenda to determine whether this proposal is relevant to neighborhood stakeholders. We will follow up with you after the meeting to provide feedback on this matter.

1. Context:

· Use the image and, if applicable, the settings featuring Wolfo the wolf-dog for events and communications within the Plaines du Loup eco-neighborhood

--------------------

2. Proposal:

As its creator, I propose using the image of Wolfo as the emblem for the new Plaines du Loup eco-neighborhood, to illustrate guidelines, posters, and/or educational signs. A well-known and endearing character from the wordless comic book series *Wolfo*—a series of five volumes (to date) published by Rossolis (Bussigny)— this wolf-dog—a symbol of local wildlife and respect for nature—can also be incorporated into other activities, such as educational or ecological nature walks (to illustrate brochures or guides distributed during these events). Since these drawings remain my contractual property, my copyright (©carinebd.com) must be mentioned on each one, which informs people about the existence and origin of my character and protects it against potential unauthorized copies.

  • Depending on my availability, I can also offer supervised comic-book workshops and/or animal drawing workshops for neighborhood children.

--------------------

3. Motivation:

Originally from Lausanne and having lived in the Bellevaux neighborhood for 36 years, I currently reside in Mont-sur-Lausanne, on Chemin du Rionzi, just a stone’s throw from the new Plaines du Loup neighborhood. My involvement in the life of this new neighborhood stems from my attachment to my city of Lausanne and to the theme of the wolf.

I’m used to creating illustrations that are understandable in all languages (since they don’t rely on words), which will help ensure your messages are understood. The City can seize the opportunity to associate a likable character—already familiar to many Lausanne residents—with the environmental and social efforts being made to revitalize the new Plaines du Loup neighborhood.

Who will benefit from this? Residents and visitors to the neighborhood. How will my idea benefit them? A clear understanding of the intended goals and objectives.
