 Although the project presents an original and highly interesting idea, combining citizen-generated content with ephemeral works in public spaces, the initiative cannot be financially supported, nor can it benefit from coordination to provide logistical support for the project, which involves several internal departments.

The City of Lausanne may be able to provide financial support for such a project if it is led by its initiator and meets the criteria underlying its cultural policy in terms of geographic origin and professionalism.

 However, the City of Lausanne will retain the project leader’s contact information for potential future initiatives related to calligraphy.

In light of the above, the City of Lausanne is unfortunately unable to proceed with supporting and facilitating this proposal, but it wishes to acknowledge the relevance and originality of the initiative.

A nice message for you (if you’re passing by)

1. Context:

In early 2021, in response to the COVID-19 situation, I came up with the idea to propose this project—“A Beautiful Message for You Passing By”—to SERAC to apply for an artistic research and development grant.

2. Proposal:

A collection of inspiring quotes created by the residents of Lausanne, which will then be calligraphied and displayed in the city’s squares and streets.

  • Require the involvement of public services falling under municipal jurisdiction;

3. Motivation:

  • These friendly nods aim to boost “morale,” that is, the spirits of the residents;

  • It is a nonprofit organization.
