We thank you for your interest in this project, especially since we have been testing a similar model in some of our buildings over the past few months.

The “Pumpipumpe” initiative—stickers to place on mailboxes indicating the items or services that neighbors are willing to provide—was tested in several apartment buildings in 2020. Unfortunately, we have found that it did not take hold. The second phase of the pilot project is therefore still under consideration.

However, if you are interested in launching a similar project in your neighborhood, we would be happy to assist you in its implementation by sharing our experience and connecting you with our network of contacts.

We are happy to continue these discussions directly at slg@lausanne.ch or by phone at 021 315 44 44.

Devices to be made available via the mailbox

While walking around the town of Aigle, I noticed lists on some mailboxes of tools, utensils, and appliances made available for residents to use as they please. I find the idea very interesting, because I’m sure that in every apartment building, we have an incredible number of sanders, drills… that we use maybe once a year—if that!

I don’t know if this is already done in Lausanne, and if so, is there an official City sticker planned for this purpose with a pre-printed list where you could simply check “Other” for less common devices?

Happy brainstorming.
