This proposal was not selected because:

We have given careful consideration to the contributions submitted to the City of Lausanne’s suggestion box regarding the topic mentioned in the title, which were forwarded to us as matters within our jurisdiction.

First, it is worth noting that no significant increase in traffic volume was observed between 2010 and 2019 on Route du Jorat, given that Route de Berne was not closed during its redevelopment. This project does not require any additional measures at this time, as the route via the Chemin du Pont-Rouge is not a viable alternative in the event of potential traffic congestion on the Route de Berne. The route from the Route de Marin to the Route de la Claie-aux-Moines to the Route de Vers-chez-les Blanc, meanwhile, serves as a temporary diversion during construction on the A9, which is currently the case between Vennes and Chexbres (The Federal Roads Office (OFROU), as the manager of the highway network, may at any time, as needed, divert traffic onto the municipal or cantonal road network, which can sometimes result in increased traffic on that route).

Finally, as discussed during the information and discussion session on July 14, 2021, with the SDLJ (Société de Développement Lausanne-Jorat), it is indeed the City’s intention to limit through traffic and expand traffic-calmed zones, not only in urban areas but also in fairgrounds. A public meeting may be held to present the overall vision, as well as concrete proposals for your sector once they have been finalized.

We hope this information has been helpful and apologize for the delay in responding. Sincerely,

The Department of Mobility and Public Space Planning

Stop Through Traffic in Montblesson

Avatar: Pierre Moreillon Pierre Moreillon

Not selected

1. Context:

Through traffic in the hamlet of Montblesson causes excessive nuisances and poses risks.

2. Proposal:

Eliminate through traffic passing through the hamlet of Montblesson.

3. Motivation:

Through traffic passing through the hamlet (particularly along the route Epalinges – Collège de Montblesson – Chemin du Pont Rouge – Route d’Oron and vice versa) cannot be avoided. Harmful in many ways and, unfortunately, on the rise, it stems largely from commuter traffic as well as traffic diversion caused by the redevelopment of the Route de Berne. The road network serving Montblesson (the local road network) is not designed to handle through traffic. The hamlet and its residents must be protected from the dangers and nuisances caused by this traffic.
