Your Project in Detail
In partnership with the Lausanne-based nonprofit “Un Jardin sur ton Balcon,” a 2023 participatory budgeting award winner, we’re offering workshops centered on greenery and nature—accessible and fun for the whole family. The goal is to learn together how to add small touches of greenery to apartments, while having fun and caring for the environment. Workshop descriptions: 1. Easy and Fun Small Planting Projects Families will learn how to create small planting projects suited to apartment living. These workshops will include creating mini urban gardens, such as pots of aromatic herbs, air-purifying plants, or small floral arrangements. Children can actively participate by planting seeds or decorating their pots. 2. Making Seed Bombs This workshop was a huge success at an event held on Sunday, October 6: “Family Moments & Workshops,” the small family fair in Lausanne. We’d like to offer it again: this workshop raises awareness about biodiversity while having fun. Participants will make “seed bombs”—small clay balls filled with seeds from honey plants or wildflowers. These seed bombs can then be scattered into small pots in bedrooms or on small balconies. 3. Mini Plant Arrangements Families will create personalized plant arrangements using low-maintenance plants, perfect for a windowsill or balcony. The focus will be on simplicity and creativity, using recycled materials for pots or decorations. Workshop Locations: These activities will take place in shared spaces such as community centers or small local urban areas. These welcoming spaces foster interaction and allow families to build connections while participating in local environmental initiatives. Team: “Un jardin sur ton balcon” Association.
