1. The project in a nutshell
Encourage artistic expression to promote community life, raise awareness, and educate children and young people about environmental issues.
2. The Project’s Objective
Facilitate access for young residents of Bellevaux to artistic expression as a tool for raising awareness of social and environmental issues. Offer free eco-art activities through the ArtViv Projet cultural space to reduce economic inequalities in access to art and creativity.
3. The Project in Detail
As part of the transition toward a more socially and environmentally equitable world, it is essential not only to preserve the natural creative spirit of our youngest residents but also to enable them to develop it through drawing, painting, literature, music, and poetry—all of which we offer at the ArtViv Projet space in Bellevaux. These tools will help young people become aware of social, artistic, and environmental values.
The offering is as follows:
ECOPOETIC WORKSHOPS: Writing in support of ecology and biodiversity. A poetic approach that harnesses the full potential of artistic creation to address the environmental crisis threatening the lives of humanity and our planet. An ecopoetic approach that explores the relationships between humans and nature, the imaginary and the imagined, drawing on the fields of ecology and anthropology, aims to serve as a resource for rebuilding harmony and peace within the living world.
WOMEN’S WORDS: The “Mots de Femme” workshops offer a space for creativity—a place for oneself where, through writing, reading, and recitation, we can express our lives as girls and women, and hear and make our voices resonate through an intuitive poetic approach. It is also an effort to foster solidarity among women and openness toward others. Write, read, speak.
PERCUSSION WORKSHOPS: Percussion classes promote socialization. Playing in a group encourages collaboration, strengthens a sense of collective rhythm, and allows children to share the joy of making music together. Learning to play percussion requires special attention to rhythm and dynamics. Our classes help children develop their concentration and refine their listening skills—abilities that prove beneficial in other areas of daily life and school.
CREATIVE WORKSHOPS (painting, drawing): By engaging in hands-on activities, children will develop their dexterity and coordination. Whether it’s handling small objects (such as beads) or performing detailed tasks (coloring within the lines, cutting, and pasting neatly), all these activities help children develop their fine motor skills and dexterity. During the creative process, the part of the brain responsible for abstract thinking is stimulated. This is one of the most difficult skills for children to acquire, as they tend to think in concrete terms. Through creative activities, children become better able to grasp abstract concepts and thus develop complex reasoning skills. Manual activities channel energy through the release and sense of escape they provide, and help children return to a state of calm through the concentration they require. For this activity, a number of workshops throughout the year will be led by various artists exhibiting or in residence at the ArtViv space.
