🡺 Distribution of materials and a discussion area at a booth set up in downtown Lausanne.

Introduction to FRAGBOX GAMING

Fragbox Gaming is a nonprofit organization founded in 2018 whose mission is to promote healthy and responsible video gaming and esports, specifically competitive multiplayer gaming. Our goal is to contribute to the evolution of the field through social initiatives. We promote this across various sectors:

  • Esports: Team Coaching and Monitoring

  • Events: Creating and facilitating video game events for diverse audiences in collaboration with various partners (Migros, Ecole 42 Lausanne)

  • Outreach: Mediation and advisory services; creation of workshops

Currently, the association is based at the 42Lausanne computer science school, one of our main partners.

Project
Overview
In a way,

the origins of this project stem directly from the residents of Lausanne. Through the various events we’ve organized (particularly in Migros shopping centers), we’ve been approached on several occasions by parents who shared their questions and concerns about video games and their impact on their children’s daily lives. We’ve compiled a number of these requests:

-Which consoles and games are appropriate for my child? Depending on their age?
-How can we balance gaming with social relationships?
How do privacy settings work on video game portals?
-Which social media platforms are used in online gaming?
-What is esports? Are there career opportunities in this field?
-Where can I find communities where my child can fully express their passion for gaming with others?

Our goal is to support families through collaboration between parents and children to help them create a positive environment around video games. Specifically, we focus on: -
Avoiding stigmatization -
Avoiding risky behaviors - Avoiding
harassment in online games or fake profiles -
Avoiding issues related to in-game spending
