In Search of Clean Air

And you—what’s the air like where you live? Learn more about air quality in Lausanne and its impact on health on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. in the Aula Hall at the Palais de Rumine. Admission is free, and the conference will be followed by light refreshments. Speakers from the City of Lausanne, the Canton of Vaud, Unisanté, and UNIL will be in attendance:

Natacha Litzistorf, City Councilmember, City of Lausanne

Adeline Niquille, Section Chief, Air Quality Protection, General Directorate of the Environment, Canton of Vaud

Jean-Jacques Sauvain, researcher, Department of Work, Health, and Environment, Unisanté

Séverine Trouilloud, science communicator, L’éprouvette, Laboratory / Science and Society / UNIL

This conference is part of the “Capt’air” citizen science project, which aims to inform, raise awareness, and engage the residents of Lausanne through various initiatives, including the construction of fine-particle sensors to be placed on windowsills. These sensors will supplement the systems already in place by the authorities to measure outdoor air quality and facilitate collective discussion of the data.
