Teens and children help out in the kitchen

Avatar: Mofernan Mofernan

We would like to create a digital cookbook featuring a number of videos in which children and teens can cook—and thus help their families—using easy, healthy recipes made with ingredients that are readily available in Swiss supermarkets on a budget. The project will conclude with six cooking workshops held in various community centers throughout Lausanne, aimed at young people as well as adults (both men and women) who are hesitant to cook.

This cookbook can be shared by community centers, schools, gyms, social services, and other organizations to make cooking a time for families to come together and to provide some relief to family members responsible for this daily task, which is not always appreciated.

In the book, we would like to include a list of ingredients for each recipe and suggestions for high-quality products—preferably seasonal and reasonably priced. Other tips will also be shared.

We would like to make a difference for immigrant and/or non-French-speaking families, who often do not take advantage of all the opportunities that the city of Lausanne has to offer.
