3. The goal of your project
As part of our project to establish a library in the village of Sokode, Togo, our goal is to collect educational, literary, and historical books. This initiative aims to provide students and community members with access to a variety of books, thereby allowing them to broaden their horizons and enrich their general knowledge. We firmly believe that access to reading is a fundamental right that fosters personal and intellectual development. By collecting books, we hope not only to encourage reading among young people but also to give them the opportunity to discover new ideas, understand their history, and explore different cultures. The library will be a place for people to meet and interact, where children can come to read, borrow books, and participate in educational activities. Through this project, we aim to create a stimulating environment that values learning and intellectual curiosity, and that will contribute to the well-being of the entire community.
4. Your Project in Detail
Here are the details of the project we are proposing: Event/Activity: 2. Offer activities such as group readings with children, writing workshops, discussions on the importance of reading, book drives or book swaps, and activities for children in the neighborhood. Cultural food stand with pay-what-you-can pricing: Fundraising: Use a portion of the budget for food and beverage stands, with proceeds going toward the purchase of new books and the shipment of collected books to Togo. Promotion of our project: Communication—Invest in promotional materials (posters, T-shirts, and buttons featuring the association’s logo and the project’s name) to attract as many participants as possible and raise awareness of the cause. Partnerships: Collaborate with local schools, libraries, and bookstores to promote the event and collect books. Event/Activity: venue rental, educational games for children, snacks, writing supplies for workshops, equipment rental (microphone, speaker, chairs, and tables), venue decoration, and project posters
