This proposal was selected because:

The project is feasible subject to the issuance of an event permit. If alcohol is to be sold, this is contingent upon the issuance of a temporary permit. The pop-up bar can only serve as an accessory to an event and not as the project itself. The long-term sustainability of the project is not within the scope of the Participatory Budgeting feasibility study, as it would require an in-depth analysis that has not yet been conducted.

1. Your project in two lines:
The project will consist of creating a space for living, entertainment, and socializing that offers cultural and artistic activities in collaboration with various stakeholders from the Sévelin neighborhood. The goal is to transform a space located in an iconic neighborhood of the city of Lausanne and dedicate it to showcasing local artists and creators, with the aim of providing a new, central, and welcoming gathering place for the people of Lausanne.
2. The objective of your project (explain its purpose and how it will benefit one or more neighborhoods)
The Association aims to organize socio-cultural activities and to create and host temporary spaces for gathering and entertainment. In particular, it aims to promote the visibility and collaboration of artists and creators from the greater regional area and to highlight their projects by offering an attractive space for exhibition and sharing in the heart of the city of Lausanne. This project aims to transform an underutilized space in the Sévelin neighborhood—an iconic part of the city of Lausanne—in order to revitalize it. Its raw, industrial atmosphere and its intangible cultural life have always fascinated us. Despite this, many residents of Lausanne perceive it as the “ugly duckling” and it remains severely underutilized. This new, vibrant space will therefore give it the visibility it deserves and finally offer the people of Lausanne a new, original, and welcoming place to visit.
3. Your Project in Detail
The project aims to revitalize a currently undeveloped plot located in the heart of the city of Lausanne—a rapidly growing area (the Sévelin-Malley neighborhood) with the help of various associations and stakeholders active in the region—on the one hand, to showcase certain local artists and creators, and on the other, to connect all these people in order to foster synergies and meaningful collaborations. We aim to establish a new, welcoming community space where the people of Lausanne can gather, thanks in particular to an enticing lineup of events and a variety of socio-cultural activities. To achieve this, this raw space—formerly used for the recovery of industrial materials—will be divided into several sections dedicated to its programming. • A fresh, locally sourced dining option in the heart of the lot will satisfy hunger and thirst • An open-air, partially covered terrace will be set up so visitors can relax and enjoy the activities on offer while dining • A multipurpose hall located at the rear of the lot will be equipped to host concerts and performances, as well as to showcase local artists • Visitors will also be able to update their wardrobes thanks to a space dedicated to showcasing collections by local designers or enjoy an attractive selection of secondhand clothing carefully curated by us. • Shared workshops where artists and designers can come together to collaborate and develop innovative projects. • The entire space will be landscaped with plants and community garden plots to contrast with this industrial lot and breathe new life into it. This project will be implemented in an iterative manner and will therefore be in constant evolution. The developed spaces will be optimized over time and with the resources we receive, and a summer and winter events program will be gradually expanded to ensure consistent activity at the site and boost community life in the Sévelin neighborhood.
4. The amount requested to carry out the project (max. CHF 20,000, to be detailed below):
20,000
