1. Your project in two lines:

Our project involves refurbishing our book exchange on Chemin des Eterpeys. Although it was very popular, it was unfortunately set on fire.

2. The amount requested to carry out the project (max. CHF 20,000; to be itemized in the budget file, which must be downloaded, completed, and attached as an appendix):

The budget is included in the appendix.

3. Details of your project (you can attach images and files later in the process):

We will be working with a professional and a group of motivated residents. Once we have raised the necessary funds with the support of the people of Lausanne, we will be able to purchase the necessary materials. We’ll organize two workdays to build and install the book box. You’ll find images of our book box as well as the plans for its ideal construction. These plans may be subject to change.

Ironically, and in an effort to play down the issue and raise residents’ awareness, we will choose fire-retardant materials that can withstand outdoor conditions.

4. The objective of your project (explain its purpose and how it will benefit one or more neighborhoods):

Following the fire at the book drop box, we sought to raise awareness among neighborhood residents about such acts of incivility and the damage caused to equipment that is intended to be shared and useful.

We want to engage people of all ages in this effort to foster involvement and support this initiative, which was unfairly cut short just as it was gaining momentum. This project is intended as a form of redress for the creators and users of the original book box.

5. The exact address of your project, if known, as well as the neighborhood(s) involved:

Across from Chemin des Eterpeys 2, 1010 Lausanne, on the side of the road. This was the location of the book drop box before it burned down.

6. Your organization’s name (optional):

Development Corporation of Boveresses, Eterpeys, Grangettes, and Praz-Séchaud.

6. Your contact information (required)
