Survey Results

Survey Results

As part of a bachelor’s thesis in Information Science, a survey was conducted among the public who currently use or no longer use the Chauderon Library.

The goal was to identify users’ habits and the barriers to using the site.

Find the main findings of the survey here. Read the full report to learn more.

Survey Results

  • 128 people responded to the questionnaire.

  • The main barriers to participation are lack of time and incompatible hours.

  • Expectations include extended opening hours as well as more pleasant spaces to spend time in.

This survey confirms that a large portion of the population is deeply attached to the world of books and libraries. It also shows that a library is more than just its collections. The comfort of the spaces, the quality of the service, the hours of operation, and the overall atmosphere play an essential role in the users’ experience.

The results of this survey will be used to develop proposals for improvement, which will be reviewed by the City of Lausanne Libraries.
