Power and Resistance

A free film screening at La Tanière next Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The documentary *Power and Resistance: When Swiss Multinationals Destroy Lives* sheds light on the struggles of indigenous communities facing the destructive impacts of Swiss multinationals. Through the stories of residents of the Andean province of Espinar, in Peru, and the island of Borneo, in Southeast Asia, this film exposes the forced evictions, massive destruction, and persistent pollution these communities face on a daily basis. Despite the empty promises made by multinational corporations, these communities are resisting, united by their determination to protect their land, their health, and their livelihoods. Giving up is not an option.

The film screening will be followed by a discussion (30 min) and a casual get-together.
