SuperMamans, from the maternity ward to home: the water bottle that brings people together

Avatar: Association SuperMamans Association SuperMamans

Short Description
At the CHUV Maternity Ward alone, more than 1,300 disposable plastic bottles were used each week—a major environmental impact that we’ve chosen to address in order to build a cleaner future for our children. Since the summer of 2025, the partnership between the CHUV Maternity Ward, the Clinique la Source Maternity Ward, and the SuperMamans Association has been transforming daily life during the postpartum period by providing each new mother with her own reusable glass water bottle. This eco-friendly initiative naturally encourages patients to get up and fill their water bottles at the water fountains. This simple act promotes a gentle physical recovery, breaks the loneliness of the first few days, and creates precious moments of peer support and warm exchanges between roommates. By combining sustainable waste reduction with immediate solidarity, this water bottle serves as a gateway to the world of SuperMamans. The organization then takes over at home, pampering families from pregnancy through the child’s first birthday with comfort, homemade meals, and community support that is essential for future generations.

Your project in detail
Support for the continuation of the partnership with Lausanne’s maternity wards The SuperMamans association wishes to continue its strategic partnership with the CHUV Maternity Ward and the Clinique La Source Maternity Ward. With 3,500 reusable water bottles distributed in the Lausanne region alone in 2025–2026, the impact of this project is immense: it tangibly transforms daily life during the postpartum period while raising families’ awareness of eco-friendly practices from birth onward, particularly through access to the 300 water fountains in the city of Lausanne. This project is at the heart of a vital local initiative. Already, seeing our water bottles and services directly recommended by healthcare staff establishes the credibility, reliability, and fundamental value of our efforts among new parents. Furthermore, the Lausanne region is among the most active in all of French-speaking Switzerland in terms of requests for assistance and mutual support. Offering this direct point of contact right from the maternity ward provides a concrete response to the growing needs of Lausanne families. By receiving this useful, sustainable, and meaningful item, every family—regardless of its financial situation—discovers a free, supportive, and local network of organizations ready to step in and provide assistance at home. The funds requested will help finance the restocking of our partner facilities in Lausanne for the coming year and ensure the long-term sustainability of this initiative, which addresses environmental, health, and social needs.
