Avatar: Morgane Dupuis Morgane Dupuis

Short Description
The project aims to create spaces to support parenting in the Prélaz-Valency neighborhood in order to strengthen ties between families and professionals, while improving the visibility of existing resources. It relies on a collaborative approach with local stakeholders to address the needs expressed by residents.
Target Audience
Parents
Your Project in Detail
Following several interprofessional meetings held in the Prélaz-Valency neighborhood, it became clear that many families have a significant need for parenting support spaces. These discussions also revealed that, despite the presence of certain resources in the neighborhood, families—and even some professionals—are not always aware of the existing facilities and programs. This lack of visibility and coordination limits parents’ access to support, networking, and guidance. In light of this, the project aims to create parenting support spaces open to all families in the neighborhood, while strengthening networking and the visibility of local resources. These spaces will aim to: - Foster dialogue between parents and professionals; - Strengthen parenting skills and confidence in the role of parenting; - Promote social ties and solidarity among families in the neighborhood; - Improve the dissemination of information about existing services; - Provide welcoming opportunities that promote prevention and family well-being. These spaces will be developed in collaboration with local stakeholders (community centers, CVEs, kindergartens, AVASAD, associations, etc.) to ensure a response tailored to residents’ actual needs, strengthen interprofessional coordination, and consolidate the neighborhood’s community fabric.

Planned Timeline
The space is initially planned as an outdoor area. Its implementation is scheduled for summer 2026, to also meet the demand for a presence and activities during the summer months. However, this timeline is not set in stone, as the project plans to involve parents in its design. Their participation will help us better understand how they envision this space and at what time of year they would like it to be open.
