RöstiGarten - Grow Your Own Garden

Avatar: RöstiGarten RöstiGarten

Short Description
“RöstiGarten - Cultivate Your Garden” is an artistic and ecological project for families in Lausanne, aimed at sowing seeds of poetry and music and cultivating joy. We are offering families in Lausanne a series of free, interactive, bilingual (French–Swiss German) outdoor concerts in five public parks in the City of Lausanne over a weekend (2–3 consecutive days) to be determined in June 2026.
Target Audience
Families in Lausanne from all social backgrounds, children of all ages, single people, seniors, and people with disabilities or limited mobility. Accessibility: free concerts in easily accessible public parks
Your project in detail
Through music, play, and humor, we spark cultural curiosity and foster family bonds, all while celebrating Switzerland’s linguistic diversity. Each concert is a 40-minute participatory “sound garden,” blending original songs composed by us with playful interactions. Children are invited to sing, dance, discover words in both languages, and share a poetic, heartwarming moment with their parents. We offer five participatory and interactive 40-minute concerts in the following parks (subject to approval): Milan Park; Mon Repos Park; Valency Park; Montbenon; Hermitage. Each concert includes: bilingual (French–Swiss German) and poetic songs composed by the duo; audience interaction: dancing, rhythmic or vocal participation; light staging, a joyful and welcoming atmosphere; a brief, playful introduction to certain words and expressions in both languages; raising awareness of sustainable mobility (the musicians travel by public transit and bicycle with their instruments). Our Goals: to foster connection and inclusion among families from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds; to stimulate musical curiosity from a young age, while promoting bilingualism and local creativity; to encourage sustainable transportation: the venues chosen are accessible on foot, by bike, or by public transit, and the musicians travel by bike and public transit; to raise awareness about nature and the climate: each concert is designed as a poetic outdoor interlude, fostering respect for the environment and a rediscovery of Lausanne’s parks; to support parenting by offering a free, intergenerational, and nurturing experience.
