1. Your project in two lines:
Ensure the functionality of a Linux operating system (Debian computers) for everyday computing tasks.
2. The objective of your project (explain its purpose and how it will benefit one or more neighborhoods)
To ensure that the public can reliably use computers (under the GPLv3 license) for everyday computing tasks.
3. Your project in detail
As an independent healthcare provider at a pediatric practice in Lausanne, I have observed the positive effects of preventive care on children. Children seem to have fewer accidents, and parents are better able to care for their children and provide an environment conducive to their development. For these reasons, I am redirecting my efforts toward this project on Friday afternoons. The project involves creating a group of people dedicated to ensuring the usability of the Linux (Debian) operating system for the general public. Its operations, budget, and decision-making processes will be made public. The project will operate under the UBI2030v1 license, and terms of participation will be established. Free software enables people with limited financial means to perform all computing tasks; sustainability and transparency are significant advantages associated with free software licenses (the GPLv3, in this case). Participants and Partners: Who is it for? Residents of Greater Lausanne and low-income residents of the Canton of Vaud (tax assessment requested). With whom? The project initiators, Swiss-Linux, Debian.ch, the Pirate Party, Intergen, Itopie-Lausanne, and certainly others not listed here. Timeline: End of the public budget period...............................................until July 15, 2023 Launch of the public platform .....................until July 1, 2023 Finalization of participation terms and conditions............until July 28, 2023 Start of operations................................................through August 28, 2023 References: https://www.unesco.org/en/open-science https://www.fsf.org https://www.debian.org https://en.unesco.org/inclusivepolicylab/analytics/what-we-know-and-dont-about-basic-income https://www.undp.org/blog/case-universal-basic-income
