This proposal was not selected because:

This project was not selected because a similar project being developed in the same location was submitted, and we lack the means to distinguish between them without the decision being arbitrary. Since the groups did not wish to join forces, both projects were rejected to ensure a democratic, consensus-based process. Nevertheless, the project leaders were invited to join the participatory process organized by the City’s Parks and Public Lands Department, during which neighborhood residents were able to share their ideas regarding the development of the Bellefontaine parking lot.

We aim to revitalize neighborhood life by offering a temporary summer initiative that transforms a largely underutilized green park—nestled on the roof of the Bellefontaine Parking Garage—into a space for relaxation, socializing, and culture.

Imagine an urban oasis of peace featuring:

  • A play area for children and adults

  • A cultural exhibition area

...in a friendly, relaxed, local, and inclusive spirit

  • Promote intergenerational exchange

  • Create a sense of community through a multifunctional space

  • Supporting local culture

  • Increase the neighborhood’s appeal
