1. The project in a nutshell
A unique place to care for, repair, repurpose, and exchange clothing, offering a shared experience that promotes sustainability, social interaction, social diversity, and the circular economy.
2. The Project’s Objective
“Le Repair” is a project that invites us to rethink our clothing consumption and offers concrete actions to extend the life of clothing through a shared experience.
3. The Project in Detail
We aim to create a space based on the exchange of knowledge and materials, and on the reuse of existing textiles, fostering intercultural and intergenerational exchanges. “Le Repair” operates on a points system. Points are earned by donating unused clothing or by purchasing cards. These points serve as the sole currency for the following four entities, organized around a reception and information area: The Sewing Workshop, open to everyone with various options available: renting a workstation by the hour, week, or month; clothing repair workshops; and themed sewing classes. The Clothing Exchange: a permanent swap shop to exchange clothes and extend their lifespan. The Café: a welcoming space to enjoy a coffee or a soda and discuss textile-related topics (a small media library is available, featuring books, magazines, and films on the subject). The Boutique: a space for selling and consigning secondhand clothing, fabrics, sewing supplies, yarn, and more. The space will foster diverse social interactions and support a local, circular economy.
