Number of votes

1. The project in a nutshell

Build a community chicken coop to bring neighbors together in the neighborhood.

2. The Project’s Objective

Create a community of neighbors interested in managing a neighborhood chicken coop to strengthen social bonds between different generations, promote animal welfare, and raise awareness among children and adults about respecting animals.

3. The Project in Detail

Our project is led by a collective of more than 20 neighbors. This project ensures the active involvement of those affected—children and adults alike—and all neighbors will be able to participate. This project addresses the need to improve the neighborhood’s quality of life in accordance with the following principles:

  1. It fosters new relationships among neighbors through shared activities, educational programs with the neighborhood’s two daycare centers, and annual fun events such as an Easter egg hunt.

  2. It strengthens social bonds by encouraging neighbors to get involved in activities open to the entire neighborhood.

  3. It fosters a new culture of democracy and promotes a sense of citizenship through the goals of the “Poules Nord” association and its shared decision-making process, which includes children.

  4. It directs public resources toward the needs of the community, particularly those with the lowest incomes, in order to provide a social activity that is inclusive and nurturing.

  5. Finally, the project is not for-profit. On the contrary, a grant would allow low-income families to participate in the project without having to invest in infrastructure. Our project is designed to be cost-effective. We do not need additional funding to launch it sustainably.
