The Circular Stage

A stage available to artists, schools, clubs, and other local organizations

The circular stage, visible from both sides of Place de la Riponne, is available to everyone upon request for authorization. Actors, musicians, comedians, music and dance schools, sports clubs, and neighborhood associations: this new venue is designed to be open, conducive to interaction, welcoming, and festive—a space for discovery and sharing for the entire community.

The first element to be installed on the site, the wooden structure was built by 200 EPFL students, thanks to a unique collaboration between the City of Lausanne and the architecture program, through its ALICE laboratory.

This installation thus marks the start of the implementation of temporary improvements, carried out in conjunction with the completion of the parking garage construction.

The new wooden structure now makes it possible to test different uses of the square in practice and evaluate their suitability. It may be subject to future changes.
