Participatory Budgeting

Take part in the 2026–2027 edition!

Participatory Budgeting

Imagine. Vote. Create.

What is it? The participatory budget allows you to propose ideas to improve your city. It is a tool for local democracy: the City of Lausanne provides a sum of money to fund projects proposed by the public.

What’s the purpose? These projects are intended to improve life in neighborhoods, foster social connections, or address a collective need.

Who is it for? Residents can submit ideas and/or vote for their favorite projects.

What happens next? The projects that receive the most votes are funded and then carried out directly by the people who proposed them
