Lausanne with the Family—It’s Free!

Avatar: On est tous une famille On est tous une famille

Short Description
In Lausanne, there are many free activities available for families, but they are sometimes overlooked because information is scattered. This project aims to create a simple and accessible web platform that brings together free family activities in one place: culture, reading, workshops, wellness, nature, recreation, events, and neighborhood initiatives.
Target Audience
All families in Lausanne, with a particular focus on families for whom the cost of recreation, cultural activities, or outings is a barrier. The project is aimed at parents, children, and teenagers, regardless of their neighborhood, family situation, or financial means.
Your Project in Detail
In Lausanne, many free activities are available to families: culture, reading, social gatherings, workshops, explorations, and neighborhood activities—all taking place in a variety of locations! The problem, therefore, isn’t necessarily a lack of options. 👉 The problem is knowing that they exist. Information is scattered across different organizations and channels. For a family that doesn’t already know the right places or networks, these opportunities can easily go unnoticed. The project In Lausanne, many organizations already offer free activities for families: community centers, libraries, museums, associations, cultural institutions, and other local initiatives. However, these offerings are scattered across different websites, event calendars, and communication channels. This can make it difficult for families to know what’s available, when, and where. The project “Lausanne with the Family—It’s Free!” is based on a simple idea: free activities already exist—let’s make them visible. The goal is to create a clear, practical, and smartphone-friendly web platform that allows families to easily find the free activities available in Lausanne. Searches could be filtered by: - date: today, Wednesday, weekend, school break; - children’s ages; - type of activity: culture, reading, creativity, nature, recreation, wellness, social events, etc.; - neighborhood. Each activity would be presented in a simple way with essential information: location, date, times, recommended age, and a link to the organizer or registration details. The project will thus make it easier for families to access recreational activities, cultural events, and neighborhood life, regardless of their budget, while also raising awareness of the many free initiatives that already exist in Lausanne. Ultimately, the goal is also to encourage local organizations to promote their free activities in order to gradually expand the platform’s offerings. The My Family Pass association would spearhead the project.
Location
Lausanne, all neighborhoods. Since the platform is accessible online, it will be able to list free activities offered throughout the city and allow families to discover what’s available near their neighborhood as well.
