How does it work?

The participatory budgeting process takes place in several stages:

1. Submit an idea

Anyone living in Lausanne can propose a project.

2. Project Review

The City reviews the proposed ideas.

It verifies that projects are feasible (legally and technically) and that the budget is reasonable.

3. Resident Vote

Selected projects are put to a public vote.

Everyone can choose their favorite projects.

4. Implementation

The projects that receive the most votes are funded and then carried out directly by the people who conceived them.

The winning projects are announced publicly.
